AlloysAluminum, Copper, Stainless Steel
Selected for their resistance to corrosion, tensile and yielding strength, Cometic® alloy materials include Copper, Aluminum and Stainless Steel.
Copper
The purest grade of oxygen-free copper, C110 Copper features corrosion resistance, ductility, high thermal conductivity, and is not susceptible to embrittlement when heated.
Cometic uses 99.9% pure copper that is tested for uniform flatness to ensure the best possible seal between the head and block. O-ringing is recommended.
Recommended Use: Head Gaskets, Base Gaskets, Exhaust Gaskets
Available Thickness: .005, .010, .016, .020, .032, .043, .050, .063, .080, .094
Stainless Steel 301-1/4 Hard
301-1/4 Hard is austenitic stainless steel that has been cold rolled to increase the strength with a tensile strength of 125,000 PSI minimum and minimum yield strength of 75,000 PSI.
Available Thickness: .012, .0158, .016, .020, .025, .031, .100
Aluminum
Using a solid piece of aircraft grade 6061 alloy aluminum, the tensile and yeilding strength allows our gaskets to be used on high performance applications.
Recommended Use: Head Shim, Base Shim, Carburetor Spacer, Torque Plate
